Temari Ball Gallery

Here is my latest embroidery project – TEMARI BALLS!  In July 2016, I started learning this Japanese embroidery art form of doing flat embroidery on a sphere.

It looks like a lot of math – but the resulting intricate designs are actually very easy to stitch, once you learn how to divide the ball with different guidelines.

In February 2017, Nordic Needle did a ‘Featured Stitcher’ article about me and my sewing, and also my Temari balls. To view the article and to see more pictures, click here.

In September 2017, Eclectic Tarot published an interview about me. To view this interview, click here.

The gold ball was created using a ‘mirror image’ stitching technique in triangles, and the silver ball is actually a pentagon.
